The 23rd Hampton Designer Showhouse highlights a shift away from minimalism, embracing an exuberant, maximalist style with tassels, trim, printed fabrics, objets d’art, and even wallpaper! The frilly designs contrast beautifully with the modern, brutalist architecture of the house which features floating stairs and glass banisters. This approach softens the starkness of contemporary design, adding warmth and texture, proving that ornamentation and comfort remain essential despite current modern architectural trends.
LTA Interiors operating from offices in Florida and New York contacted Mike + Ally 6 weeks prior to the Showhouse opening. Designers face the challenge of randomly being assigned a space after submitting multiple preferences, requiring significant financial outlay for deposits, insurance, and supplies, all while creating innovative designs within strict parameters without permanently altering the property. With only two weeks remaining, we both agreed on the Mike + Ally Rosé Lucite collection – organic with a pop of edginess for their oversized, contemporary master bathroom.
The 2025 Hampton Designer Showhouse in Southampton featured 24 top interior designers from across the country transforming a 9,000-square-foot custom home built by Town & Country East End, with the project serving as a platform to highlight premier American talent. The event, presented by HC&G, continues its tradition of combining high-caliber design with philanthropy, having raised around $2 million for Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. With renowned designers like Jamie Drake and Alexa Hampton serving as Honorary Chairs, the showhouse underscores the importance of supporting community health initiatives through the power of design.
